About the Course
You will develop a deeper understanding of the Italian language in a variety of contexts relevant to contemporary society. You will extend your knowledge of the cultural background and history of Italy and countries or communities where Italian is spoken. You will be able to research a subject which interests you and present it in the oral exam. Literature, elements of History and Film also play a relevant part in the course giving you the opportunity to develop further listening, speaking, writing and reading skills.
Future Prospects
A second language is essential in today's multi-national world. This one-year course is offered to advanced Italian learners and gives you the opportunity to achieve a full A-Level at the end of Year 12 (results received in August), allowing students to apply in Year 13 for post-18 education with UCAS points already in their portfolio. This course also complements a number of higher education courses including History, Politics, and Business.
