Clubs and Enrichment Activites
College is about more than just lessons. Getting involved in enrichment activities is a great way to develop new skills, build confidence, make friends and enhance your university, apprenticeship and employment applications.
Whether you're interested in sport, performing arts, academic challenge, leadership or volunteering, there are opportunities for everyone at Newman.
Christian Union
We have a Christian Union where students can explore what they believe in. You could help teach, encourage and inspire younger students by being a “Mission Leader” guiding primary school children through fun activities, prayer and song or you could become a “mass mentor”. You could raise money for charity or experience inner peace on retreats such as Taize in France.
Debating Society
Join the student-led Debating Society and improve your ability to think for yourself, argue intelligently and communicate eloquently. You will take part in National Competitions with the opportunity to win prizes and gain newspaper coverage. We have always seen great success from our Debating Team. Just recently, we got through to the South East Regional Finals. You could also develop your skills further with the Oxford Union Debating Workshop.
Drama Clubs

Music Clubs
The Music department run a range of free extra-curricular clubs including bands, choirs and music tech club. In addition our external partners provide DJ, instrument and vocal lessons, theory lessons and after school band workshops.
Sports Clubs
Every Wednesday afternoon sports and leisure opportunities are available to you. These include being part of football, netball, rugby and hockey teams and other activities. We have seen great success in our sports teams and compete in regional and national championships. We can offer flexible study around your training needs. You could join our Boys Rugby Academy or Girls Football Academy.
