About the Course

This course has three components: Philosophy, Ethics and Developments in religious (Christian) thought. Philosophy covers ultimate questions about reality, the nature of 'God' and challenges to religious beliefs both ancient and modern. Ethics covers the classical ethical perspectives and applies ethics to a number of real issues. Developments in religious (Christian) thought is an exploration of Christianity in more depth – you will look at central and differing beliefs about human nature, the purpose of life, revelation, faith and reason, and the challenges of secularism and pluralism.

Future Prospects

The subject complements other essay based subjects such as English, History, and Politics and also develops the critical thinking skills valued by a wide range of degree courses and careers e.g. Art, Law and Medicine.
