If you enjoy problem solving and thinking logically then this is the right course for you. Studying Computer Science will give you a great head start if you want to go on and study a technology or STEM-based subject at a higher level. Many students study Maths and Physics with Computer Science. Students not taking these subjects will have to work a bit harder on some aspects but we have had many successful applications to Computer Science higher education courses from this group.

This dynamic and fascinating subject encompasses hardware, software, computational thinking, logic & circuitry, mathematical skills and ethical/legal concerns. This course will suit logical thinkers who are also able to be creative. One exciting thing about choosing this subject is that you will be both a creator and an analyst; a programming project is compulsory with the two exam papers. Programming is central to the course, we start with Python so students new to programming can catch up quickly.

Programming will be in Python initially, then moving on to C#. JS and HTML (inc. CSS) will also be taught. 

We support the GODOT Game Engine to create programs that will form your coursework. It is also possible to complete your coursework in a high level language like C# or a game engine of your choice.
